We strive to make you and your business sparkle online! From branding development, graphic and web design, and social media growth and strategy…we've got you covered!
So you’ve just had a photoshoot. Congrats! You are now one step closer to having everything you need to launch or rebrand your creative online business. Once you have those beautiful images in hand (or on your computer), you know it’s go-time. But, wait. What are you even supposed to do with them? I’ll tell you! I want to share my top strategic ways to utilize your brand photography so you can maximize your photo gallery for your business.
Hopefully, by now we all know that personal branding is important. Branded photographs are pure gold for both your website and your social media. These platforms are made for showing off you, your brand and your business – so having the aesthetics to go with it is key.
Don’t forget that brand photos help you look professional, polished and put together when your audience visits your website or social channels. So let’s see how you can start boosting your business using your brand photography!
Using your branding photos on your website is by far the best strategy for utilizing these images! When your audience lands on your website – they want to see YOU! When you visit my website, you can see that I use my brand photography all over. Why? Because it works!
These professional photos are there to welcome your audience in and invite them to learn more about you, your brand, and your business. So don’t skimp on putting photos of you on your website!
Now, your brand photographer should already know exactly what type of photos you need for your website. So, let’s talk about where these branded photographs should go!
Since this is usually the first page your audience will land on, you want them to see your face as soon as possible. This could include using branded photos on your header image, on services your offer, or just as a visual break in your content.
Both your About Page and your Contact Page should have a branded photo of YOU. I think the About Page is pretty obvious why an image of you should be used, so I won’t go too much into that. I recommend having an image of you on your Contact Page specifically because it’s the page where they reach out to contact you.
Your audience will feel more at ease contacting or reaching out to you when they can visually see YOU – a real, live human at the other end of the form you are asking them to fill out. Making a real impression on your audience through branding photos is a key player in creating true connections.
Feel free to distribute your branded images throughout your blog posts! Since you are writing or producing your content, branded photographs of you are 100% relevant here. I’ve seen brands use their photographs on their banners, headers, or scattered in the post itself. I recommend using branded photos as your feature photo since it can create a nice cohesive aesthetic when your audience lands on your blog page. You can see an example of mine here.
If your business requires business cards, this is a great opportunity to use your branded photographs. Having your face on your business card is conducive to brand recognition during networking! Hopefully, your business card (with your face on it) will help them more easily recall the wonderful conversation you had at the event.
I am sure you, like me, probably get bombarded with emails from brands, businesses, or even friends. All the emails can get confusing – so you want yours to stand out! Or at least be instantly recognizable once your audiences open your email. I recommend throwing a brand photograph on your header or even your signature sign off. Branded photos even work great on your emails or newsletters when you decide to make an announcement or send content to your email list!
I always recommend using your branded photos in your freebies, digital courses, eBooks, or any other digital products. Your face will evoke recognition while also adding a cohesive visual element to your content. Having your face on products is also a strong visual indication that you are an expert in your field. So don’t be afraid to show off you and your expertise!
If you are a business or a brand, you likely have at least one social media channel going. If you have multiple, you want your branding to be consistent across the board so your audience knows exactly who you are in a glance at a screen. Research has proven that photos of you get way more engagement than generic stock images. So don’t miss out on the opportunity to throw some on-brand images in your social media marketing strategy!
Your branding photographer should have captured a few landscape images with enough empty space on the side for you to add any headline or tagline for your business. I recommend using these types of photos for your Facebook Banner.
I think business owners get really confused on what image to use as their Facebook Profile. I HIGHLY recommend you to have a photo of yourself (preferably of your face) as your profile picture. Not your logo! You want to be relatable to your audience and they will always relate better to an image of you than a logo.
I think this one should be pretty straightforward, but use your brand photos for posts! Tell a story, make an announcement, advertise a product or service. But don’t feel like you can’t post pictures on the go from your phone! Just remember that branded photos are meant to be sprinkled throughout your feed – not the only posts going forward!
Considering the ‘gram is all about photos and aesthetics, you can bet that brand photography is golden for this platform! Have a consistent and eye-catching ‘grid’ can make a world of difference for your brand and business. You want to appeal to your audience enough to make them stop them mid-scroll and (hopefully) stay longer. Just don’t forget that for Instagram your captions and your story are just as important as your photos!
Because IG Stories is ramping up on the influencing level, your business would definitely benefit from being active here. Branded photos of you work great when you pair them with polls, stickers, or any new post announcements.
While this one doesn’t exactly go into Website or Social Media – you should definitely be using your brand photography on your Pins for Pinterest! Do not overlook Pinterest because this site can work wonders for your business! Since Pinterest is a visual platform, branded photography works really well.
Now I really don’t recommend dumping all your brand photos on your social media over the next two weeks. Instead, spread them out in between other posts. This makes them last longer and when you’ve reached the end of your gallery, it might be a long enough time that you can start again from the beginning! (Hopefully not too long of a time that your images are looking out of date).
