Websites are so incredibly important for growing your brand and your business. Not only does a website give you control over your space and narrative, but it also allows you to add credibility to your business.
I could spend forever talking about the benefits of having a website for your business. I even wrote an entire post about it over here. However, there is one BIG benefit I haven’t covered in detail and I want to now. Today’s post is all about how your website can help your brand stand out from the crowd.
Let me be the first to tell you that your website can be an amazing catalyst for stimulating brand awareness. You want to make sure your website visitors are viewing your brand exactly how you want it to be perceived. That means your branding (and branding strategy) needs to be on point so it can stand out among your competitors! Let’s see how we can do that.
Your website helps to show off the visual representation of your brand. You want to make your brand memorable. Things like your logo, your brand colors, fonts, and favicons are all visual elements that help your website visitors easily identify you and your business through your branding. Having these elements helps your website give a consistent image to your audience.
An on-brand logo displayed prominently on your site is an awesome way to instill easy identification. Target is a great example. Like Target’s bright red branded website, it’s important to make sure that your visual branding is consistent across your website. Through your branding, you are visually telling your audience whether you are playful, professional, dignified, elegant, or boutique chic. This can help make you instantly relatable to a targeted audience further highlighting your brand from competitors.
When a visitor lands on your website, you want to show them exactly who you are. Your style, your uniqueness, even the way you talk can influence your branding. For instance, my website is intended for the boutique-style experience and I talk to my audience like they were a friend I was meeting for lunch. Professionally casual. Infusing your website with your unique brand identity makes it so much easier for visitors to relate to you and it encourages them to engage with you too. That’s a win in my book.
This even includes telling your story, sharing your values, photos, testimonials, and telling your audience exactly how you run your business. Giving your visitors this insight will let them know what you are all about and trust you. Just make sure you are consistent!
Testimonials or case studies are sure-fire ways to boost your brand image on your website. Remember, your customers want to have a problem solved – so when you showcase your previous customers or clients – you are showing visitors that your offer to their solution is worthwhile. Social proof can also solidify the trustworthiness of you and your brand.
What do you want visitors landing on your website to do? When they land on your website you need to guide them towards taking a specific action. Are they there to set an appointment? Purchase an item? Submit a contact form?
Maybe you have a website that makes visitors trust and relates to you as if you were their long-lost best friend. Heck, they may even be ready to hand over their credit card and start working with you! But if a visitor lands on your website and they have no clue what their next step should be, that is NOT good!
If you don’t make it 100% clear what actions your audience needs to take on your website, you won’t convert the sale. Having a clear CTA (call to action) funnel will set you apart from your competitors more than you think.
People want to work with businesses that are efficient and make their life easier. Having a website that tells your potential clients exactly what they need to do to start working with you will work wonders for your brand and your business.
Remember, if you want your website branding to stand out – you need to get in the mind of your customer. What experience do you want to have when you land on a potential colleague’s page? What information do you want to see or know? Have you helped others find solutions to their problems? What is the process to start working with you?
I can’t reiterate enough how critical having a website is – but branding is equally important! Your website is there to convert the sales, but your branding also works it’s magic in the process too. Branding helps your audience easily differentiate you from your competitors and quickly make decisions on the quality of your business. So make sure you are giving them a positive brand vibe!
