Hello! One 11 Studios is a boutique agency that specializes in design, branding and social media growth for lifestyle brands and female entrepreneurs. We strive to make you and your business sparkle online! From branding development, graphic and web design, and social media growth and strategy…we've got you covered!
As entrepreneurs and small business owners, we invest in a website for our business for several reasons, but mainly to land customers or clients, right? That means we need to have a website that converts to sales like it’s going out of style.
Now, a high converting website has many different elements that need to be considered in order for client conversions to happen. For example, having a mobile-friendly design is critical for effortlessly getting your message across to the masses that are increasingly accessing websites through their phones.
But we could spend years focusing on all of the various elements your website needs to land the sale. That’s why I want to give you my top THREE tips for making your website convert to sales on autopilot. If you start implementing these three tips today, I promise you will see results. I’ve even included some extra tips because I just can’t help myself!
So let’s hop to, shall we?
Throwing a bunch of words about your product or services on a page doesn’t work! You need to engage, tell a story and funnel your visitors through your website using tactical words and deliberate CTAs. This takes strategy, usually in the form of a copywriter – but you can do it yourself, too!
Finding the right balance between content that educates and content that sells is crucial for your business. You want your viewers to be able to click on your website and learn about YOU, your product or service, AND your business. Remember to write your copy as if you are speaking to them at an intimate brunch, pre bottomless mimosas, of course. Basically, make it conversational!
Website copy also includes using testimonials, social proof, and case studies from previous clients or customers. These are wonderful tools for building trust and loyalty right away – because you are showing potential customers that you can fix their problems because you’ve already fixed the problems of other people! This really helps to put visitors at ease.
Pro Tip – Identify your viewers’ questions and answer them! (Within reason – we are still trying to make a sale). Think about your potential client and ask yourself what struggles they might be facing; how can your service or product help solve that? Being proactive like this allows your viewers to feel as though you are on the same page – even before they’ve spoken to you directly!
Your website is there to support your business. But your business doesn’t exist without a sale. Therefore you need to make sure that your website visitors are being directed towards your sales pitch!
Now, when you make a sales pitch on your website, you want to try to sprinkle it in many different places – not just one! We are a society of scrollers. That means your viewers are going to be speeding through your website in record times and could potentially miss your sales pitch. Just remember, your sales pitch needs to be relative to the place that it’s in – throwing in a sales pitch in some random location on your website doesn’t work.
Now a sales pitch can take the form of a few things including opt-ins, sign up forms, contact forms, email lists, or webinars. When you drive your visitors to the sale and ultimately convert them to your side of the dodge-ball court with your words, you need to provide them with a CTA (call to action)!
Often overlooked, CTAs are so important in the conversion process. And while they don’t always have to sit next to a sales pitch, CTAs do work well when placed strategically around your website. Many businesses place an attention-grabbing CTA right in the first section of their home page – which is typically the most visited section on your site. Kissmetrics says that where you place your CTA depends on the complexity of the page. So definitely play around with yours and test out what works best for your audience!
I recommend placing enough CTAs around your website to make sure your visitors can take action when they are ready. Nothing is worse than converting a client that can’t clearly see what or where to take their next action step! Sidebars, footers, pop-ups and top of pages are all great places to use CTAs. Find what works best for your website.
Pro Tip #1 – I advise having a CTA at the end of every page for them to opt in to your newsletter or email list.
Pro Tip #2 – Using authoritative statements like “Yes, I Need This” or “Grow My Traffic” work well for CTAs that are combined with a sales pitch.
Remember to follow up with visitors that have used any of your CTAs!
Search Engine Optimization. SEO is a must-have, a game-changer, a key element, the wind beneath your website’s wings… you get the picture. There are many elements that go into SEO that will help your website convert to sales including mobile-optimization, UX design, UI design, off-page SEO and on-page SEO (to name a few). But I mainly want to talk about using on-page SEO like keywords for your website.
For now, you should know that having an on-page search engine optimized website allows people that are searching for your product or services to find you! And that, my friends, is so powerful. To obtain this on-page SEO, you need to research strategic keywords that will help your website rank on Google.
Once you do this, you will use these keywords in your copy, in your URLs, in your headers, and in your images alt-text. When used correctly and strategically like this, keywords are literally working for you all the time! Even as you sleep.
Keywords are such an amazing growth strategy and definitely something to invest your time into learning. I know I have and I’ve reaped the rewards tenfold. If you don’t even know what I’m talking about when I say SEO keywords, then I highly suggest that you check out my in-depth rundown on how to master keywords for SEO.
Pro Tip – When coming up with your SEO keywords, think about what you would google to solve the problems that you are answering in your website copy.
Hopefully, you’ve found these 3+ tips useful in planning out your website’s sales conversion strategy. Remember, your website is there to provide a solution to your potential customer’s problem. That means you need to make sure your website copy, testimonials, sales pitch, compelling calls to actions, and SEO all work in cohesion to convince your visitors that they need YOU to get where they want to go in life.
